A complaint to Chennai MTC on terrible bus service

To the Managing Director, Metropolitan Transport Corportion

I wish to lodge a formal complaint that there was no bus operated from Periyar Bridge – LIC stops towards Vadapalani and West Mambalam – K. K. Nagar between 10.25 p.m. and 11 p.m. on August 3, 2013.

I was waiting during this period at LIC, and found to my surprise that four buses on route 23C towards Besant Nagar were operated one after the other within the space of one minute, three of them virtually empty, while there was not a single bus operated towards Vadapalani or W. Mambalam.

By operating four 23 C buses in a continuous stream, not only has MTC deprived passengers of service after 10. 45 p.m. but has wasted precious fuel and caused loss to the exchequer.

MTC has also cut several services on route 12C without warning, and caused untold hardship to people living in Rangarajapuram, Corporation Colony, areas.

You have already withdrawn route 11D which was the only link between Rangarajapuram and Corporation Colony with Parrys/Broadway and replaced with minimum number of M11A service. The 11D service must be restored or mini-bus service operated towards Broadway from Rangarajapuram, if necessary via revenue earning route.

You are requested to ensure that there is a service towards Vadapalani and West Mambalam – K.K. Nagar from Central-Periyar Bridge-LIC, at least once in ten minutes until 11 p.m. and thereafter, night service at least once in 20 minutes.

This complaint is liable to pursued under the Right to Information Act, 2005

Thanking you

  2. This is regarding the accident had with MTC bus route No: 219 A Bus No: TN-01-N-8613 on 02/01/2015 on Shanthi Colony @ 10:00PM.
The bus stopped much before its bus stop without any indication and my car rammed at the back of the bus.
None of these drives or conductors are even courtious to check what happened to the person or the vehicle.
My car was almost half smashed from the front. Even after stopping the driver he is using such bad words as if i had made a mistake. These type of drivers should be sacked who do not know how to talk to people.

Shame on MTC for having such useless drivers.
